Before the arrival of ATM machines, people were required to visit a bank to carry out their transactions. It was not unusual to find out a line of people waiting outside a bank and waiting for the bank to open.
But the banking industry continues to employ technology to streamline services as seen with the introduction of ATM machines and online banking. The need for folks to wait in long queues, and frustrated by long delays, in order to do banking in a face-to-face manner has surely become a thing of the past, as banking services evolves to allow for a changing industry.
I hope we never return to the days prior to introduction of the ATM models or online banking. Because, for me the worst thing about banking is if the ATM network is down for a couple micro-seconds, or when an ATM machine can be so primitive that it requires i always manually enter my pin-number.
But now that I think about what customers have to put up with when visiting a bank just to manufacture a deposit or withdraw. I can say without trepidation i always just love that ATM machine and love online banking.
I can access my accounts anytime from any computer or even make any conceivable type of transaction from all over the world while sitting in front of your computer. Or use my cell-phone to create deposits directly into my bank account, by simply taking a picture of your check that I must deposit.
