Pimples are an almost universal issue today, with the growth of convenience foods resulting in many of us eating bad diets that end up harming our skin. Add in the effects of atmospheric pollution in cities, leading to clogged pores, and the fact that we rarely have time to walk in the fresh air and sunlight, and it becomes easy to understand why pimples are so common.
Unfortunately, knowing the cause of our pimples and being able to resolve them do not always go hand in hand. It is easy to say ‘eat a healthy diet, take more exercise in the fresh air, and avoid pollution.’ But actually doing these things is more difficult. For those occasions when we simply have to muddle through and deal with the pimples as an inevitable consequence of modern life, it does at least make sense to know how to handle them.
Some people find the antiseptic, astringent qualities of tea tree oil helpful. Applied before going to bed, it battles the pimples while you are sleeping.
Exfoliating lotions can help too, but only if used sparingly. Once or twice a week at maximum. Too much, and you’ll strip the skin bare and lead to more problems, not less.
Staying hydrated is important for good skin, so drink plenty of water (not beer, tea, or coffee.)
If the pimples simply have to go, and you cannot wait, spend a few pounds on a stainless steel pimple popper extractor. This is the safest way to get rid of them in a hurry.
