I'm using a SR macbook pro running 10.4 and having the same issues with a netgear wnr834b. Tbh, everything works fine except when waking from sleep and i have to restart to get a connection again. Tried your advice and one time it did connect properly when waking from sleep but hasn't done it again.

Was hoping that an upgrade to leopard might fix this issue but from the above posts, probably not. :(

After upgrading a macbook pro (version 1) to Leopard..many drop outs with the airport express I was using to wirelessly connect to a cable modem.

Bought a Netgear wnr 854t. after a few hours of continuing problems..i followed the manufacturers advice and uploaded the latest firmware revisions.

and thats why RTFM (and follow its advice) is so important. All is well between my MBP, an XP Laptop and the Netgear box.

Yes, I tried your suggestion.Still pretty much the same issues. But I start hearing more and more about Leopard networking issues and a Leopard 10.5.1 coming soon... . Let's hope for the best.

You might try what I mentioned above it helps 8/10 times. At least I don't have to reboot to get a connection now.

I have the same issues with my Netgear WNR834B. Upgrading OS X from 10.3 to 10.4 already caused dropouts, but now with 10.5, I must *reboot* to get a connection to the route when the MacBookPro wakes up. Who knows if this is a Netgear or Apple problem, but I am getting very annoyed.
