Ubuntu Desktop Upgrade

My upgrade from Ubuntu 7.04 to 7.10 went very smooth today. I am pleased to say I am running the RC of gutsy now on my desktop.

My upgrade from Ubuntu 7.04 to 7.10 went very smooth today. I am pleased to say I am running the RC of gutsy now on my desktop.
Cool! I upgraded a desktop in my office, but my laptop is still on Feisty. I have never been able to successfully upgrade it from one release to another, and I have tried each time since hoary->breezy. I’m going to try again in a week or two, but this time I’ll start by removing any and all restricted drivers and non-ubuntu-repos packages first. I’ll have an alternative installation cd on hand, though.
